About Us
Mission
By working with community partners and raising public awareness, we aim to combat human trafficking and child abuse by proactively providing education and connecting people with the appropriate resources while supporting law enforcement in their efforts to identify exploiters.
The CAUGHT Foundation is a Canadian not-for-profit corporation that was created by former Canadian law enforcement, military and intelligence professionals who wish to continue serving Canadians.
We are 100% run by volunteers.
Goals
Supporting Survivors
Our main goal is to help people reclaim their stolen lives and prevent others from being subjected to similar treatment. To us, stolen lives are the lives of those who have been exploited by human trafficking or child abuse.
In our efforts to help people reclaim their lives, we will be working with them to connect them with the appropriate community partners.
Educate and Empower Communities
We will be reaching out to various community partners such as schools, churches, and municipalities to seek out opportunities to present or set up info booths at community functions. Our goal is have a current or former peace officer attend these functions on behalf of The CAUGHT Foundation.
The purpose of these presentations and booths is to connect CAUGHT to communities across Canada, and provide education.
The information provided will include topics such as:
- Identifying signs of Human Trafficking or child abuse
- Safe internet practices for minors
- Stages of Commercial Exploitation
- Stages of online grooming
- Dispelling myths about Human Trafficking
Tips
We’re working on building a tips service, where we will accept tips on child abuse and human trafficking activities. We appreciate your patience as we develop this service with our partners.
Liaise with Police Services
The law enforcement and military professions have a level of understanding and respect given to fellow personnel that remains even after retirement.
Using these relationships and our knowledge of Canadian policing models, we will establish professional relationships with local community policing units to assist them in identifying exploiters and child abusers.
